The official website of the Edo Heritage Foundation of Michigan.
The name Edo Heritage was coined to reflect the long and rich heritage of Edos (as in Benin Kingdom) with more than 1200 years of continuous recorded history as a vibrant nation. The name Foundation was added to reflect its bent towards development; of its members, our home communities and promoting our culture. THE SPECIAL EVENTS
In addition to monthly membership meetings, annual picnics, the end-of-year parties, fund raising events, some other events are worthy of mention. As a way to promote Edo culture and community in Michigan, we participated in the 1995 African World Festival at Hart Plaza, Detroit. We also do an annual Thanksgiving; a time for us as a community to come together corporately to thank the Almighty God for the blessings and accomplishments of our members. The first was held in East Lansing in 1997. Edo Heritage Foundation was a prime mover and founding association of Edo National Association in The Americas. We hosted the 2004 National Convention in Detroit, Ml, This convention went down in the annals of ENA as the best ever to date. Edo Heritage Foundation — Michigan continues as a vital organization and a trial blazer within the Edo Community and Nigerian Community in The Americas. Special thanks go to its members, past and present and its many supporters. Space does not permit me to mention by name all its members/supporters and their contributions.
